Connecting a Samsung Mobile Phone to MSU Secure

Overview

How to connect a Samsung mobile smartphone to the MSU_SECURE wifi network.

Connecting Samsung to MSU_SECURE

 1. Locate and tap on the settings cog to access your Samsung phone settings.

 

2. Tap on Connections

 

           3. Make sure Wifi is turned on and tap on it to access your wifi settings.

 

            4. Tap MSU_Secure.

 

            5. Tap on the EAP Method drop down and make sure PEAP is selected. 

 

            6. Tap on the CA Certificate drop down and make sure Don't validate is selected. 

           7. Enter your MSU ID# (m123420) into the Identity box. 

           8. Enter your MSU password into the Password box.

           9. Tap on Advanced at the bottom to access Advanced Settings.

          10. Tap on Phase 2 Authentication to access the drop down and make sure MSCHAPV2 is selected.

 

           11. Make sure the Anonymous Identity box is left blank.

 

            12. Tap on the IP Settings drop down and make sure DHCP is selected.

 

            13. Make sure the Proxy setting is set to None.

 

            14. Make sure the Metered network setting is set to Detect Automatically.

 

             The Advanced Settings page should look similar to this when you're done.

 

             15. Click Save at the bottom.

             16. Enable auto-reconnect if you would like your device to automatically connect to MSU_SECURE when wifi is turned on and the network is in range.

Your general settings page should look similar to this when you're done.

 

            17. Tap the Connect button to connect to the MSU_SECURE network.
